In this workshop explains to students what bullying is and covers the different forms of bullying that occur in high school. The session focused on physical bullying, verbal abuse, hazing, sexual harassment, racism and LGBT. It emphasized the role of the bystanders, explaining when bystanders are complacent they’re complicit and will either be part of the problem or part of the solution.
The Department of Education, in partnership with non-profit and community organizations such as the Michael Walton Foundation, plays a critical role in ensuring that schools and communities are safe places for all students. The Department of Education promotes proactive strategies to confront bullying, cyber-bullying, and harassment in schools and in the community.
