“Peer to Peer Conflict Resolution”

This workshop explores how to be a part of positive change in your community.  The speaker offers advice through stories of their experience on overcoming adversity, obstacles and challenges.

The FREE Youth Empowerment Project is a part of the larger Mentoring Today program which serves youth who are incarcerated at New Beginnings Youth Development Center by the DC Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services. The program reaches high-risk, repeat offenders to help combat violent crime and strengthen the metro area community. The program provides mentees with intensive one-on-one mentoring, legal advocacy, and youth leadership opportunities.

FREE was started by a group of young leaders who were locked up in the past but decided to turn their lives around in a positive direction to give back to the community.
